what gets you fired up?

What makes you feel like you are in your "sweet spot", where everything just comes together and feels right?

Going on spontaneous adventures? Caring for children? Creating anything from art to music to cuisine to websites? Helping others through community service?

Have you ever thought of turning your interests and talents into your career?

—Breaking news!

You CAN do it. You have the power to do so!

Take a few moments and reflect on what you have done today…what have you accomplished?

Time is an indescribably important part of life. More specifically, how you make use of your time?

No matter what age you are, you have the ability to turn all those thoughts and dreams floating around in your mind into a reality. You might have a life situation which could make it hard to do so. In even the smallest ways, try to make steps towards doing so. You reading this blog is a great first step!

As a 19-year-old full time college student at the College of Charleston, culinary artist and entrepreneur, I am also a Charleston fanatic & explorer (cobblestone streets, local art galleries, stores, and restaurants always catch my eye). Creating cuisines and experiences for other is truly heaven.

There are awful and sad things happening in the world all the time, so doing the right thing feels extra right these days. Food has a way of making the world come together in the most amazing way. As an entrepreneur, there is an opportunity to make an impact through food created with thought and care.

I spoke to a group of high school juniors recently. They were in an entrepreneurial class based in Charleston at Charleston Collegiate School in Johns Island.. Since they usually have entrepreneurs come in to speak to them that are in their forties and up, they requested to have a young entrepreneur come in. My mentor kindly volunteers his time at the class on the regular, so he asked me if I would be willing to come in to speak. I was flattered! They were engaged, smiling, excited, and ready to work hard. It was contagious!

Today, I challenge you to take a few minutes and figure out what makes you happy to be alive, and go do that. Maybe, even, step outside of your comfort zone and do something new. Who knows, this new revelation could be a step towards a business venture.

Get out there!

Now We're Cookin'!
